Jane Bright is an Executive Project Manager for the Women in STEM Student Council. She is currently a first year graduate student pursuing her Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Her research focuses on compact astrophysical objects and gravitational physics through numerical relativity simulations. Jane received her B.S. in Physics and B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Astronomy from Denison University (‘18). While at Denison, Jane served as Secretary and then President of the Society of Physics Students, and was a strong leader for physics outreach activities and the Women in Physics group. Jane has also earned a third-degree black belt and is an instructor in the martial art of To-Shin Do, which is another avenue through which she has a passion for helping women feel empowered in the world. Jane is honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as a member of the WiSSC executive board and hopes to help create an environment that is supportive, welcoming, and enriching for women in STEM.
